Stage 1: Caio Terra Academy, San Jose (two weeks)

Of course, we’d have to start with a trip to the home of Caio Terra in San Jose! Caio is one of the most technical fighters on the planet and a fantastic teacher. Pair that with the fact you’re more than likely to find Yuri Simoes training there as well and you’ve got a great jiu jitsu experience ready and waiting.

Stage 2: FightZone, Rio (one week)

Straight from Caio’s academy we’d head down to Rio for a week of training at Ricardo Vieira’s FightZone. Home of Checkmat in Brazil, this gym has been a breading ground for some of the best fighters in the world over the years, including the likes of current competitors Jackson Sousa and Marina Ribeiro.

Stage 3: Alliance HQ, Sao Paulo (one week)

Alliance co-founder, Fabio Gurgel, and his stable of athletes in Sao Paulo would be next on our list. Alliance’s main academy is home to the likes of Michael Langhi and Gabi Garcia, as well as boasting a huge number of students to train with and learn from.

Stage 4: Roger Gracie Academy, London (one week)

Time to cross the atlantic and head to London for a week of training at Roger Gracie’s London academy. Roger’s gym was one of the first to be established in the UK, so there’s sure to be some good numbers and great training in this exciting city. Not to mention Roger is arguably the best jiu jitsu fighter there ever was. No big deal.

Stage 5: Marcelo Garcia Academy, New York (one week)

Back across the pond for the last week of training at Marcelo Garcia’s academy in New York. Here, we’d take advantage of the high level of nogi classes on the timetable, as well as trying as hard as possible to get a roll with Marcelo himself. This New York academy is also home to Bernardo Faria and Gianni Grippo, so plenty of talent on the mat.

So, that’s our 6 week training camp – time to start planning yours!
